BOPLA Presents Versatile BoNext Electronics Enclosure Series

BOPLA has introduced BoNext, a new generation of modular electronics enclosures that combines modern industrial design with high technical flexibility. Featuring over 300 immediately available variants, the series is aimed at developers of IoT devices, touch displays, and industrial control technology. The enclosures offer scalable protection up to IP68 and are manufactured from flame-retardant polycarbonate (UL 94 V-0), making them suitable for use in harsh environments. The official trade show premiere takes place at electronica in Munich and SPS in Nuremberg in November 2026.

Clean Design and Integrated Status Signaling
The construction concept of BoNext completely dispenses with visible screw connections on the top surface; assembly is carried out invisibly from below via the flat lower section. A special technological feature is the integrated ambient lighting. Through the use of a translucent lower section, illumination of the enclosure interior creates a luminous ring on the rear of the device. This serves not only as an aesthetic design element but can also be used functionally for the visual status signaling of the electronics. Customizable design and functional seals in various colors additionally enable seamless integration into the customer's corporate design.

Modular Scalability for Extreme Environments
To meet diverse architectural requirements, the series is available in nine sizes specifically tailored to common touch display formats. While the unprotected base version with configurable ventilation slots achieves an IP30 protection rating, the system can be modularly upgraded to IP66 or IP68 (waterproof up to 1.2 meters depth for two weeks) in closed designs through various sealing options. Thanks to its f1 listing (UL 746C), the polycarbonate used meets the highest requirements for permanent outdoor use. Furthermore, the material is certified according to the strict fire protection standard DIN EN 45545 at the highest hazard level, HL3, for railway vehicles. Modular accessories such as VESA and pole mountings facilitate installation across a wide variety of deployment scenarios.

Additional Context: Polycarbonate in Outdoor and Railway Applications
This section details technical specifications and competitive benchmarking not included in the original product announcement.

In industrial enclosure engineering, transitioning from protected indoor spaces to harsh outdoor or transit environments places extreme demands on material science. Standard ABS plastics quickly degrade under constant UV radiation, becoming brittle and losing their mechanical impact resistance. Polycarbonate blends with a UL 746C f1 certification solve this problem through specialized UV stabilizers that permanently protect the material against weathering and embrittlement. Furthermore, compliance with the DIN EN 45545 fire protection standard (Hazard Level 3) is a critical differentiating factor for deployment in trains and railway vehicles. This standard tests not only flammability but also smoke density and the toxicity of released gases. Electronics enclosures meeting these strict normative requirements enable system integrators to deploy the exact same hardware platform directly into heavily regulated mobility and infrastructure projects without complex and costly material redesigns.
